Alpha/Beta/Omega or Alpha/Omega (occasionally Alpha/Beta) is a kink trope wherein some or all people have defined biological roles based on a hierarchical system, with the terms originating from animal behaviour research. There may be werewolf, knotting, or other animalistic elements involved, or the characters may be otherwise purely human.
Alphas are generally dominant and able to impregnate Omegas. Male Alphas usually have a knot when aroused.
Betas are subordinate to Alphas and may or may not be able to impregnate Omegas; in some fanworks Betas aren't present and the trope is known as Alpha/Omega, in others they take the role and functions of Omegas and Omegas aren't present. Betas are often presented as having "normal" human anatomy with none of the special attributes of Alphas or Omegas.
Omegas are generally lowest on the hierarchy (although in some fanworks Omegas are rare and prized). Male Omegas are self-lubricating and have the ability to become pregnant, sometimes referred to as being bred or mated. Lovers may form pair-bonds with a special connection with telepathic or empathetic qualities. Paired Alphas may be jealous and possessive of their mate, while the Omega may become submissive. Omegas and Alphas may go into heat and need to have sex; this may be the only time Omegas are fertile.

I just wish these were full books and not part of a series, I just want to read the full story without having to wait for months upon months, if not longer, for the full story to be complete. This way of publishing stories has really started to turn me off reading because it seems only part of the story is published. Its exhausting and frustrating to try figure out if I am reading a completed series or not, I usually only read completed series but sometimes its hard to tell if the series is completed or not. I really liked the Addison Cain books, for example, but none of the series is completed and there is no time line around when they will be done. It seems like I have waited forever and the author just seems to be publishing different stories so I don't even know if she intends to finish the stories and honestly I have just given up on her books. Again, I am just frustrated around waiting so long for a book to be completed.

I am not saying author's are machines, I am saying I would like to purchase a complete product and not have to purchase parts of books that are not complete. I would also like to know prior to buying a product if it is a complete product or part of a book and if it is a part of a book and not the full book, how many books will be written. I am paying money, hard earned money, to buy a book and I would like to know if I am buying the complete product or only part. I have purchased books in the past that have never been completed, Scarlett Edwards comes to mind, and I don't think it is OK to promise a book and not deliver. As I wrote I find the whole process exhausting and I find the tone of your e-mail dismissive, I never wrote authors were machines or this is about my whim, its a business with real world dollars being exchanged. I personally don't care if you are happy waiting for a book to be completed, I am not. Also, I am not writing about "sequels" these are not "sequels" these are more like chapters in a book.

It's not fair to your readers to wait so long for a complete story.

I've been getting annoyed by this too! Every installment is 3-5 bucks, where full length novels generally are 6-7. When they release +3 books in the story, it easily adds up. And we're only getting a small part of the story. I feel like we're being taken advantage of.
I've been reading for over 40yrs and this new trend baffles me. Why invest yourself into a story that isn't complete? I mean anything can happen and the author could end up not finishing it. I'll wait until the story is done. I'm sure I'll enjoy it just as well as if I had waited for each segment. I know of at least one author that has multiple stories going on. There is no way I could keep up with all of those story lines. I'll just wait. In the meantime, I'll read completed stories. :)
I agree with every one on this comment trend. I read like you Georgia, i wait mostly for a completed books series to read.

Why does the description say anything about male omegas getting pregnant if this is strictly m/f? Females can't get males pregnant.

Regardless of gender Alphas could impregnate omegas, though this is less of a standard now that the trope has developed in mainstream media. I want to say the novel Hide or Die has this in it, but it's been ages since I picked it up, I thought there was an author note at the beginning discussing biology in her world and how it more closely aligned with material online, but I might be misrepresenting that.
